Fila is one of the world's largest sportswear manufacturing companies. Founded in 1911 in Italy, Fila has been owned and operated from South Korea since a takeover in 2007. Headed by chairman and CEO Yoon-Soo Yoon, Fila now has offices in 11 countries worldwide.

HIsTORY.

Fila was created in BiellaPiedmont, by the Fila brothers in 1911. It originally started by making clothing for the people of the Italian Alps, now manufacturing sportswear for men, women, kids and athletes.
The company's primary product was originally underwear, before moving into sportswear in the 1970s, initially with the endorsement of tennis player Björn Borg.
The original Italian ownership Holding di Partecipazioni sold the company to US hedge fund Cerberus Capital Management in 2003, after the company over-committed itself to expensive athletic endorsements, at a time when margins were under pressure. Cerberus owned Fila through holding company Sports Brands International, which owned and operated all Fila businesses around the world with the exception of Fila Korea, which was a separate company operating the brand under licence.
In January 2007, the global Fila brand and all its international subsidiaries were acquired by Fila Korea from SBI, which made it the largest South Korean sportswear company. Fila Korea currently holds all of the rights to the worldwide use of footwear and apparel brands of the parent firm.
In 2009, ANTA Sports acquired the rights to use the brand in China (the company "Full Prospect"), from Belle International, Fila Korea still owned 15% shares of the joint venture company "Full Prospect"

Macbeth Athletics

                     Macbeth
perkara2 nie ak juz copy from wiki+google& sebagainye..ahaaa...hrp maklom!!

Macbeth Athletics was the temporary name for Macbeth Footwear during their 2005 marketing campaign "The Sport of Life." Macbeth Footwear is a company created by Tom DeLonge and Mark Hoppus from the platinum selling punk band Blink 182 and Jon Humphrey, a former concert promoter and vice president of the skateboard company Adio Shoes. The campaign's slogan "The Sport of Life" intended to show a different type of athleticism. An athleticism people use in everyday life, in contrast to just physical sports. "The Sport of Life" encompassed every single decision and consequent action a person could take in their daily lifestyle to improve the life of those around them and ultimately themselves. Whether it's taking a risk and packing up your things to drive across the country and be with the girl you love or picking up a guitar and teaching yourself how to play, the campaign aimed to highlight peoples passion and commitment they use in everyday choices. Macbeth added the term "Athletics" to their name for the duration of 2005 then dropped it by the end of the year when the brand decided to steer it's marketing back to its core foundation of music and active lifestyle.
During 2005 the marketing campaign saw the "Keep A Breast Foundation" and Macbeth Athletics unite to host a unique online auction featuring plaster forms of the female torso painted by top musicians and artists to fund breast cancer education and outreach programs for teens and young adults.
Among the notables whose casts were auctioned included international Burlesque star Dita Von Teese, Catherine D’Lish, Maya Ford of the Donnas, Rosa Blasi of Strong Medicine, Kelly Hu of X2, the wives of No Doubt, pro surfers Lisa Anderson and Layne Beachley, the Suicide Girls, Katy Perry and more. Lending their artistic talents to decorate the casts are the Foo Fighters, DJ Greyboy, Tom DeLonge, members of No Doubt, Alkaline Trio, Taking Back Sunday, Newfound Glory, Switchfoot, and Aaron from Guru Tattoo.
The auction was held through eBay.com during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, October 1-31, 2005. The one-of-a-kind pieces of artwork were also showcased at gallery exhibitions in New York City on Oct. 6 and in Los Angeles on Oct. 22.
“Like millions of others, I have been plagued by the devastating effects of cancer hitting not one, but multiple members of my family,” said Tom DeLonge, founder of Macbeth Athletics. “Keep A Breast creates events that are not only inspiring and beautiful, they provide a call to action for the millions of teens and young adults are searching for a cause to support.”
Despite the prevailing opinion that young women don’t get breast cancer, the reality is that they can and do. One in every 250 women between the ages of 30 and 40 will be diagnosed with breast cancer in the next 10 years (American Cancer Society, 2005).

                        converse

1908–1941: Early days and Chuck Taylor

In his late 30s, Marquis Mill Converse, who was previously a respected manager at a footwear manufacturing firm, opened the Converse Rubber Shoe Company (completely unrelated to the Boston Rubber Shoe Company founded by fourth cousin Elisha Converse) in Malden, Massachusetts in 1908. The company was a rubber shoe manufacturer, providing winterized rubber soled footwear for men, women, and children. By 1910, Converse was producing 4,000 shoes daily, but it was not until 1915 that the company began manufacturing athletic shoes for tennis. The company's main turning point came in 1917 when the Converse All-Star basketball shoe was introduced. Then in 1921, a basketball player named Charles H. "Chuck" Taylor walked into Converse complaining of sore feet. Converse gave him a job. He worked as a salesman and ambassador, promoting the shoes around the United States, and in 1923 his signature was added to the All Star patch. He tirelessly continued this work until shortly before his death in 1969. Converse also customized shoes for the New York Renaissance (the "Rens"), the first all-African American professional basketball team.
1941–Present: War, bankruptcy, and new management

When the USA entered World War II in 1941, Converse shifted production to manufacturing rubberized footwear, outerwear, and protective suits for the military. Widely popular during the 1950s and 1960s, Converse promoted a distinctly American image with its Converse Yearbook. Artist Charles Kerins created cover art that celebrated Converse's role in the lives of high school and college athletes. Through its shoes, Converse developed into an iconic brand, and came to be seen as the essential sports shoe. In the 1970's, Converse purchased the trademark rights to Jack Purcell sneakers from B.F. Goodrich. Converse lost much of its apparent near-monopoly from the 1970s onward, with the surge of new competitors, including Puma and Adidas, then Nike, then a decade later Reebok, who introduced radical new designs to the market. Converse found themselves no longer the official shoe of the National Basketball Association, a title they had relished for many years. While being employed at Converse, one of its employees (Jim Labadini {1968-78}), created the chevron and star insignia / logo that still remains on most of the footwear items.

The loss of market share, combined with poor business decisions, forced Converse to file for bankruptcy on January 22, 2001. In April 2001 Footwear Acquisitions, led by Mardsen Cason and Bill Simon, purchased the brand from bankruptcy and added industry partners Jack Boys, Jim Stroesser, Lisa Kempa, and David Maddocks to lead the turnaround of America's Original Sports Company. The new team drove Converse from the 16th largest footwear company to number 7 in three years which led to a buyout by Nike Inc. for $305 million, qualifying as the merger and acquisition of the year in 2003.
On July 9, 2003, the company accepted a US$305 million purchase offer from rival Nike

                      SpecialEditions

Several special editions of Converse shoes have been made, including DC ComicsThe RamonesAC/DC the Sailor JerryMetallicaThe ClashGrateful DeadOzzy OsbourneJimi Hendrix, and Nirvana, the Control, green, brown or camouflage edition. Three new designs were created for high tops, inspired byThe Who. There is also a special collection released called 1Hund (red), where 15% of the profits are used to support HIV/AIDS relief. One hundred artists from around the world were chosen to create designs for the collection.

Purcell.

John Edward "Jack" Purcell (December 24, 1903 – June 10, 1991) was a Canadian world champion badminton player. Purcell was the Canadian National Badminton Champion in 1929 and 1930, and declared the world champion in 1933. He retired in 1945, and pursued a career as a stock broker. Purcell also designed an athletic shoe that bears his name, which is still popular today.
